Me? A Mentor?
What is a mentor?
A Mentor IS…
-
Simply a woman of faith who is a little further along in her journey with Jesus and willing to shine a little of HIS light so that another woman can follow. A role model and cheerleader.
-
An encourager and coach—not a fairy godmother who can fix all the problems.
-
A teacher and motivator—not a superwoman who flies in to rescue the woman in need.
-
A team member—we work with you to help in any way we can.
What is involved in being a CWJC Mentor?
-
Mentor Training (8 hours) is provided and required.
-
Monthly Mentor Meetings (1—1½ hour each month) provide on-going encouragement and learning opportunities.
-
Weekly Bible Study with your participant.
-
Praying daily for participant and for God’s guidance as a mentor.
-
Networking with area churches and community resources.
-
Committing to at least 2 hours of mentoring each week—you set your own limits beyond that. You set the meeting time according to your schedule.
-
Committing to at least 6 months as a mentor.
Mentoring is a great opportunity to minister one-on-one. You decide when and where you meet with your participant. It’s building a relationship that will change a life and provide an opportunity to share Jesus Christ with others.
Mentor Training is provided at no cost to you and we work with your schedule as much as possible. If you are interested in being a mentor, please email
