Formerly the York County Christian Women's Job Corps

A ministry of WMU ®
In the past year, we have seen 20 women move from discouragement and despair to new-found confidence and hope. These are the feelings many struggling women have when they believe there is no hope ..... but hope is exactly what they find in Grounds of Grace Ministry (formerly York County Christian Women's Job Corps). They rebuild their lives with the solid emotional support and self-sufficiency training that we provide.
Testimonials
-
One participant stated: "Grounds of Grace gave me roots and wings. I learned that no matter how broken a person may be, a ministry such as this can give a person's heart and hope soil to grow in and wings to soar in victory in knowing their value and destiny in Christ."
-
Another put it this way: “I needed some type of encouragement. Some type of help to lift me out of the pit I was in. I had lost my self-identity, and I needed help so I could get back to supporting myself”.
There is nothing more satisfying than seeing how a little Christian guidance, kindness and education can bring a woman up from despair to new levels of confidence, hope and happiness.
Everything changes when you know the love of God, in whom all things are possible.

This beautiful lady is a former graduate of the ministry's Seven Steps Toward Self-Sufficiency program. She made an impromptu stop by the office to share how God has worked in her life in the last few years giving thanks to the ministry for helping her reach her goals. She said, "it was more than a stepping stone...it was like God Himself was reaching down letting me know it's about living...not just about getting things."

And more ...

She called with excitement to say thank you for believing in her when no one else would. With excitement she said, “because of CWJC, I now have a career!”
A testimony from a participant—“When I tried to reenter the workforce I found that I could no longer just go out and ‘get a job’. I did not have the updated skills that today’s office requires….I didn’t know where to turn and had almost lost all hope.…CWJC showed me encouragement, guidance, information, caring and motivation to push forward to get what I need to be self-sufficient again and support my little boy and myself. Next week I will be finishing my computer classes at York Tech, and I don’t think I would be where I am today in my spiritual, emotional and educational life without God’s love working to guide me, teach me and motivate me through Christian Women’s Job Corps.”
“Christian Women’s Job Corps has truly helped me to begin to turn my life around by helping me to find some direction in my life when I felt lost, find hope when I had lost it, set goals and work every day toward achieving them…”
One participant wrote how she had discovered “what seemed a future of ‘disrepair’ is now ‘hopeful’ as Christian Women’s Job Corps is enabling me to ‘gather the fragmented pieces’ and bring structure to my life. Through the assistance of CWJC, I now see a recovery to the situation that was of great concern to my life.”
