New Name But the Same Dedicated Purpose
While we have changed our name from York County Christian Women's Job Corp to differentiate ourselves from other chapters, our mission and work remain the same. Grounds of Grace is first and foremost, a group of Christian women called to help our sisters in need to become grounded in the grace of God ... growing, becoming inspired, learning how to smile again, developing a path toward self-sufficiency and confidence ... that's the work of Grounds of Grace, and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord while serving these women who need to find their way.

Carrie Mann is Director of Grounds of Grace, a 501c3 non-profit organization providing help and support for women in the greater Rock Hill SC area.

Our Mission
Grounds of Grace is a non-profit, faith-based mentoring program that offers a “hand up, not a hand out” to women in need of reaching self-sufficiency. We are a ministry of women helping women by offering encouragement and hope. Our aim is to equip women in re-discovering their self-worth and abilities, while connecting them to available resources in our community as we walk alongside each woman. Through a holistic approach, we seek to empower women in developing life skills which will bring them to the point of economic self-sufficiency, personal responsibility, and spiritual awareness.

Grounds of Grace is a nationally certified Christian Women’s Job Corps organization. Formerly known as York County Christian Women’s Job Corps, founded in 1996 as 1 of 4 first piloting sites in the nation, it has been proven to be a successful model to break the chains of poverty. There are now more than 200 sites across the nation, as well as some international organizations.
While we have been an effective model for rebuilding lives in our community since 1996, there are many more in need of our services to not only change their lives, but also the life trajectory of their families. We look forward to serving more in our community with provisions to do so.

Heather Duncan is our Administrative Ministry Assistant. She has been involved with Grounds of Grace as a board member for three years, and is very active with the ministry!
She is a member of Elevation Church, Rock Hill Campus, and brings with her a strong background in office administration, as well as a heart for missions and following God’s calling on her life.
